Well, here they are...Fatty Cakes. They are basically a huge wad of dough (flour, yeast, sugar and water) fried in hot oil. You are supposed to eat them warm. You (according to Zulu Culture) are supposed to take the inside out, fill them with french fries and consume. You eat the removed dough later. Oh my...
I decided I could not leave here without trying one. I bought a whole bin from a sister of a patient to bring back to the Respite Unit. I ate about 3 bites and was so full and disgusted with myself that I had to give it away. The ladies and men at the unit ate them ALL!!! Weight watchers...here I come :)
